How to reconcile the bank statement
Reconciliation links each bank transaction to the corresponding invoice or payment. It is mechanical, repetitive work and easy to get wrong when performed across two windows.
- Download your bank statementIn CSV, OFX or CAMT.053. Any of the three will do.AndCompta does it
- Upload itIf the period has already been imported, duplicate transactions are detected rather than added again.AndCompta does it
- Look at the candidatesAndCompta suggests which receipt or payment matches each transaction and explains why.AndCompta does it
- !DecideConfirm, ignore or reopen. All three actions are reversible and audited. You do it
As is usually done
The bank-statement PDF sits on one side and the invoice list on the other while you tick matches by hand. That takes a couple of hours each month and leaves room for error when amounts repeat.
With AndCompta
Import the file and review suggested matches instead of searching for them. Reconciliation does not create or modify journal entries on its own, so a wrong match has no accounting consequence.
You do this part: We do not yet connect directly to Andorran banks. For now, you download and upload the statement; AndCompta saves you the work of searching for each match.
The modules involved
- Banking — CSV, OFX and CAMT.053 statement imports with reviewable reconciliation.
