Comparison

AndCompta and Sage

Sage is mature software with decades of development and a network of distributors and implementation partners that work in Andorra. For a large company with established processes and needs beyond accounting, it is a defensible choice.

Cells marked “Unverified” are features we have not confirmed directly in the product. We prefer leaving them blank to guessing.

02

When AndCompta makes sense

You are an SME or sole trader, want published pricing and need to start work the same day without an implementation project.

When Sage makes sense

You have volume and complexity that justify an implementation, or you are already part of a group working on it.

04 · Migration

If you decide to change

This is the most nuanced migration because it usually involves years of history and established accounting policies. Reconciliation must compare complete financial statements, not only closing balances.

What to ask them Request the trial balance, complete journal and annual accounts for the most recent financial years.

05 · Method

How this table is built

A person manually checked every row against the other tool’s public documentation; the review date appears at the top of the page. When we could not confirm a cell, it says “Unverified” instead of showing a cross.

We work this way because the usual industry comparison—a column of green ticks beside red crosses—is almost always a sign that nobody verified the claims. An honest gap tells you exactly what to ask the other provider before deciding.

If you find an error, send us the source and we will correct it with the correction date. We make corrections even when they make us look worse; a table updated only when it suits us is worthless.

About the change

Will I lose advanced accounting features?

Probably some, yes. If you perform complex group consolidation or highly customised reporting, tell us what you need before deciding. We would rather say we do not support it than discover the gap together three months later.

Can I bring ten years of history?

You can, but it is not always worthwhile. Often the best decision is to migrate the open financial years and keep the rest available in the source. We document that recommendation in the migration report.

Will the team have to relearn everything?

The curve is shorter because there is less to set up. The Andorran chart of accounts is already there, and there is no adaptation layer that someone has to maintain.

The quick way to decide

Open an account, import three months of invoices and see whether the figures reconcile with what you expected. That is more reliable than any comparison table.
