Taxable amount

The amount to which the tax rate is applied to calculate the tax.

On an invoice, this is the value of the transaction before tax, after discounts and any items the rules require to be included.

An example

In an invoice totaling €1,254 at the general rate, the taxable amount is €1,200.

The typical mistake

Estimating it by dividing the total by the rate. Rounding must be performed line by line, not on the invoice total.

How it appears in AndCompta

It is calculated and rounded on each line rather than on the final invoice total. That is the difference between balancing to the cent and explaining discrepancies every quarter.
