Tax amount

The tax produced by applying the relevant rate to the taxable amount.

This is the tax figure shown on the invoice and accumulated in the period register.

An example

A €1,200 taxable amount at 4.5% produces €54 of tax.

The typical mistake

Rounding one total tax figure instead of calculating tax line by line. On a long invoice, the difference becomes visible.

How it appears in AndCompta

The tax amount comes from each line's taxable amount and rate and is totalled by rate in the invoice footer. The same calculation feeds the period register, so the invoice and return remain consistent.
